Been a while

Post by jogilli »

well, its been a while since I've posted any works here, but figured I would just to get some comments.... its not a vegetable (scottie) but one of my favorite shapes to make.. I love the egg shape so when they don't sale after a while it doesn't break my heart to keep them myself.. I mean every pipe I make I'd keep personally, but dinner on the table doesn't depend on the pipe being sold... and yes (Scottie) the vegie is coming along.. albeit slowly, but coming along ;-)

Delrin insert in the mortise.. Mammoth Ivory as the application... two piece split in half during its creation but this one didn't snap..... I love working with the material.. even if it is fragile... makes the challenge even greater....

Delrin sleeve and integral tenon? Nice. As I said before- I love your stem work. The rustication still isn't quite my style, but I think you execute it really well,

Great job!

Cheers!

Delrin sleeves are awesome in some situations- never poo-poo them!

I'm in the same boat as you- I rusticate until I can sandblast. I'm still not entirely happy with my rustication right now- at least you've found something you like

Cheers!

I really like that one, James. Nice job. The Delrin mortise makes for a great stem fit doesn't it?

thanks fellas.. and yes it does wayne.. normally I just use it for Morta pipes, but figured what the heck.. really though.. delrin makes a nice mortise and though its use you can drill a wider range of angles for the airhole to mortise intersection (if that makes sense)
