Well, I made a couple glaring mistakes along the way, but was able to salvage this (though I need to coat the bowl still). I know that it's far from great - maybe even far from good But would appreciate critique & tips that you might have. I enjoy the time in my shop, but would like to get better.

One problem I really had on this, and others, is gaps between the shank and stem. I thought I read somewhere about an easy homemade tool to fix, but am having trouble in my searches. If you can pass along a link or tip, that's great.

The best advice I can give you to get rid of the gaps b/w stem and shank (assuming you don't have a lathe) is simply to use delrin for your tenons. This will allow you to use a forstner bit to face your shank face and stem face.

Not a bad first pipe at all. Go make another one.
