Re: PITH 2018!!!!
Okay, last one I'm throwing out there:
bent bulldog, diamond shank
... or an author.
Thank you.

I always thought it might be fun to try to make the pipe that is on the PMF homepage.

Do I sense that you might want to do an author?seamonster wrote:

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
In addition to the Lovat and Dublin I suggested earlier, I have a couple of more: a nose warmer in any style or a reverse calabash in any style.
So here's your chance Seamonster, either a nose warmer author or a reverse calabash author

ACTUALLY I was thinking of a reverse calabash lovat..... now that could have legs!oklahoma red wrote:In addition to the Lovat and Dublin I suggested earlier, I have a couple of more: a nose warmer in any style or a reverse calabash in any style.

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
im all in for a nosewarmer, but that's my favorite sort of pipe either way... i have no idea how id make a reverse calabash... seems a bit hard to do without a lathe, or tools made specifically for that purpose.

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
I'm in tentatively depending on the theme or shape.
Re: PITH 2018!!!!
I am also not equipped for a reverse calabash. Don’t really care for the whole nose warmer genre either.Isakowitch wrote:im all in for a nosewarmer, but that's my favorite sort of pipe either way... i have no idea how id make a reverse calabash... seems a bit hard to do without a lathe, or tools made specifically for that purpose.
Authors, Rhodesians, and bulldogs would be a stretch, possibly worthwhile.
The Military mount, oval, and bamboo were all applicable to my continuing pipe making capabilities, nose warmers and reverse calabashes, not so much.

The polls are open! Each person gets 1 vote, so choose carefully. I have it set to close in 7 days, at which point, we will have our theme for this year. May the odds be ever in your favor!
Re: PITH 2018!!!!
I had to look up some of the shapes here.
This will be fun & challenging

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
I've got some questions before voting:
Ivarsson tribute: which Ivarsson? Lars, Sixten, Nanna? I feel Lars has a very distinct style, Nanna as well, while Sixten was pretty much a master of all styles.
When we say briar calabash, I'm assuming not only shapewise but also functionally? As in: it has to have a removeable bowl? (made from material of choice?)

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
The suggestion offered was Sixten, so that's what will go with. As far as the calabash goes, actual function with removable bowl.Massis wrote:I've got some questions before voting:

We'd be including the shapes he designed for Stanwell too, or not so much?mightysmurf8201 wrote:The suggestion offered was Sixten, so that's what will go with.

I don't see why not. They were his designs, so I would say yes.RickB wrote:We'd be including the shapes he designed for Stanwell too, or not so much?mightysmurf8201 wrote:The suggestion offered was Sixten, so that's what will go with.

Re: PITH 2018!!!!
It seems that we have a tie on our hands between an author and an Ivarrson tribute. In order to break the tie, I have asked a certain non-participant to weigh in and help us determine our shape. I will not disclose who it is because I have yet to receive a reply as to whether they will do it or not. If/when they offer their decision, you will know it.
Now we wait.

I bet it's not, as long as you don't vote for 'Author'!Bluesytone wrote:Is it too late to say I'm In!
