Re: PITH 2020!
Thinking about the point behind PITH, when deciding on a shape, the goal is to learn something new.
Also thinking that there's a big bunch of newish folks participating.
If we go in the direction of a dublin, we can think about it in two ways, turned or freehand drilling.
Freehand drilling could be something new for many folks..... that's good.
But if we're thinking about turning a dublin, I think going with a billiard would be better. There's a lot more EXACTNESS necessary for a good billiard, and lot more LOOSEY_GOOSEY possible with a dublin.
two cents.

Re: PITH 2020!
Whatever the shape decided, I will largely be freehand carving it. I do not yet own a lathe, and likely will not for at least a couple years. All my carving to date has been sanding disc, rasps, files, and palm sander. I recently added a cheap drill press so I can drill, but have yet to make my own stem.
All that said, as you say, this is to learn and challenge me so whatever shape is decided Im still in

Something along those lines would be fun. I know I will learn lots of new ways to sand that shape

everybody picks up an estate on eBay for under x dollars, and then turns it into the best smoking machine possible.

Re: PITH 2020!
I’m in! Very excited to participate this year. I wanted to last year but wasn’t confident enough. Im going to give it all I got this year.

I’m IN! Sounds like a great way to get honest criticism and be challenged by peers. I’m new to the Forum and Taptalk app. How do I find the criteria for PITH?
