I have to say, I hate blasted pipes, the blast to me steals way too much focus and doesn't give the eye a line to meet. With that said this is one of the few I would smoke, the second pipe you made with the partial blast. It has a great line and length, and the way the smooth meets the blast really does it for me.
There is nothing like being left alone again, to walk peacefully with oneself in the woods. To boil one's coffee and fill one's pipe, and to think idly and slowly as one does it.

but may i say, the reason it appeals to you is probably the fact that it´s rusticated, not blasted.

The first one is nice, but I really do like the second. Maybe because I generally like rusticated pipes, but this shape with that partial rustication really to my taste. Congratulations, to both of the pipes.
