Eventually got myself sorted (through the help of a pipesmoking friend and a pipe trade!) and got myself a website. Very basic and nothing elaborate. Would love to hear any comments anybody would have.

Charl, I think it looks good. Simple is a good thing. It's a nice, tasteful design that let's the pipes do most of the talking.

Re: New website
Thank you, guys. There's still a bit of tweaking to be done, but in general I love the way it was designed.
Re: New website
I am a big believer in less is more in web sites. If you get into promoting it very seriously you will find out fast why. you measure the response of your customer in seconds. The time it takes to make the next click in fact. it will either be to look at more of your site or it will be to move on to the next. I like what you have.
Big question about the Blackwood pipe. Does it work as a pipe wood all by itself or is there anything you have to do to it to make it suitable? Reason I ask is I have several blocks of it that I have had for years with no real idea what to do with it. I got it from a supplier that made me a great deal on buying out his entire stock. they are to big to make pens out of and I don't really like them that well as bottle stoppers. but I think they are begging to be pipes now.

Thanks again for looking, guys.
Daniel, I am not sure what type of blackwood and in what form you get it over there, but the wood I get I use as is. Over here its normally already very dry and normally in quite rough chunks.

Clean and sleek design man.
In other pipemakers future, consider contacting me for a web design, it is yet another trade I am involved in. see http://www.emonkeyz.com for an idea.

There is nothing like being left alone again, to walk peacefully with oneself in the woods. To boil one's coffee and fill one's pipe, and to think idly and slowly as one does it.
