I told you before that Christian from Tarock briar wanted to participate this is an email from him

Hi john,

sorry again for being late. Thanks a lot for frequently watching my work.

I promised walle and now I promise you to participate in your forums pitht.

But I will not personally post the cavalier when it is ready. I would prefer to send the pics to you or walle and hope you are so kind to post them for me. And in case you like my tribute-pipe I hope you get it…:O)

Regards

christian

is that good enough for everyone?

john
"but rev, isn't smoking a sin?"

well I suppose if one were to smoke to excess it would be a sin

"but what would be smoking to excess?"

Why smoking two pipes at once of course

Not sure why it'd be a problem for him to post the photos... It seems a little like he's participating because his arm got twisted and not because he wants to... Should be fine, but I think it's more fun if everybody is participating out of desire to do so.

Nah, I think he wants to participate but he is kind of reclusive. Just my take.

The rev has personally vouched for Christian and he and I have spoken about what that entails. Unless there are any objections I'm going to add him to the list. (I personally can't wait to see what he comes up with)

I'm in if it is not too late.

What is the official due date?

I've never made a cavalier before. I know there are explanations around, but won't somebody be a nice chap and post some schematics and explanations so we can meet the expectations? I don't want to experiment too much with this one, given that there are some top-notch players for this year's trade.

First page has a picture, cutaway, and explanation.

Hi all!

I have actually gotten quite some work done on the PITH-cavalier this weekend, so I think I'm safe to say that I will be entering this year :D
Just hope I can meet the expectations of all the talented carvers who entered!

Best regards, Jon

I am not a big fan of the cavalier shape but I am almost done with the one for the PITH trade. I still have some fine tuning to do but here it is.

Oh! First blood! Nice work. I'm gonna get to finishing mine when I get back from Christmas vacation. Got a good deal to do yet, but I think it's gonna be cool.

I am hoping mine will be finished early January, got the basic shape but will have to drill the bowl, and put my extensions on

I'm still going to do my best to get mine finished. I've got the shape rouged out on the bandsaw and done some parts on the lathe, but my schedule is so busy that I'm not sure I'll make the deadline.

What's the plan for the order of the list? Will there be an innocent child involved in handpicking a list order?
