Re: Who's Gettin a New Shop ? This Guy
Congratulations, Ryan! Looks like you've got a nice sparkly new shop to play in. Be sure to come back and post pictures when it's all set up!

When Sasquatchii speak about about food quantity using capital letters... be impressed.Sasquatch wrote:No, really, a LOT of rice and beans.
UFOs must be real. There's no other explanation for cats.

Yeah, I cannot argue with thatNo, really, a LOT of rice and beans

Most everything else I eat, I shoot first...then fry it in bacon fat.

Yep it has 220, and I'll eventually be adding more outlets. The Smoking Yeti wrote:Sa-weet man! I take it you're going to run more outlets into that sideroom? I didn't notice a 220, but then again, I might've missed it. Once you get the place all organized(and the roof re-done) I'll have to visit!
The guy who built this house in the 70's owned a business called "Industrial Woodworking Machine Company" that's been defunct for awhile. I assume this place was actually built to be a woodshop. It's sure set up well for it ! There's not a lot of outlets, but they're mostly on dedicated breakers so I think this will fly for awhile until I can get around to the project.

Thanks so much Scott, and everyone else for the congrats and well wishes!sethile wrote:Wow, this is fantastic! Looks like you have a whole lot to work with, and a nice setting besides.
I'm content with our place for now, but hope to find something more like this at some point...
Congratulations, Ryan!
Before I paint too rosy of a picture though, I'm in for a mess of work and will eventually spend as much to fix it up as we did to buy it in the first place.
The place has been empty for years; there are roof issues, foundation problems, rotten wood, everything needs painting, some serious dead standing trees need to come down....Thats just the beginning.
On the other hand, it's got original '73 orange and brown shag carpet and horrible wood wall panels

What an awesome place! I had a shop less than the width of a single car space in my garage. In it I made custom fishing rods on both sides and silver jewelry one end and miscellaneous tasks on the other side. Your shop is HUGE!
Re: Who's Gettin a New Shop ? This Guy
A beautiful place that will become a beautiful workshop. I'm jealous
Have fun fixing it up!

Definitely a nice place. Reminds me a lot of mine with the dedicated shop. It feels good, doesn't it? All that work and planning is well worth it too.
Enjoy it and be sure to post pictures as you set it up. That way we can all enjoy it with you.
We bought a place much like the one you have. It had been empty for a few years after the previous owners died. All the plumbing had frozen and broken and there was a lot of work to do and still is 3 years later. Ours even had a motorhome built into the house which I pulled out when we bought it. I had to cut open an outside wall to get it out but it opened up a lot more room in the house once I framed it all in.
These gems are always a lot of work and probably never quite finished, but beats living in a place that will never be yours but instead a place that you make yours.
Congratulations.
