Blast!
With all the bad news that seems to be spewing out of Washington, I'd like to offer something positive out of West Texas.
I will be blasting for the first time today!
That is all.

Re: Blast!
Did Tyler just send out a bomb threat via PMF?

Re: Blast!
I don't think my efforts are going to affect the world much. All that has changed is a few pieces of pipe-shaped wood that are now more textured than they use to be.
I blasted a failed effort at shape-first drill second to get the ball rolling. Light even blast...not bad. Took maybe 15 minutes.
Second up was a pipe I made for myself months ago that I set aside to blast when I could. Much deeper blast, decent in fact, but I got carried away in a few places and damaged the shape. Nothing tragic, just oops. All in all, passing.
Third up was my first attempt at a ukelele from maybe a year ago. It is slightly Mis-drilled, and therefore a reject. Nice even shallow-ish blast. Improved the pipe a lot.
Finally a pipe I intended to sell. Lovat. Nice little rascal. Took a lot of wood off trying to get it "right". Decent. Had some spot where I lost a little of the overall shape. Not bad. Still sellable.
It was a good day.
Only failure was my cabinet leaked like a sieve and I lost a lot of media. I guess my vacuum was underized and I had positive air pressure in the cabinet forcing media out. Cure I guess is a better vacuum. What do you guys use? I tried to get away with cheap on that part, and bought what seems to be an almost useless, $20 shop-vac that hooks to a 5-gallon bucket. I guess I was too cheap.

One of my buddies uses that phrase as a euphemism for going to the bathroom, but I really went to the pool.
Soon, I hope. I stink at pictures so it's more of s chore than it should be.

Tyler, those pics are HUGE!
They are terrible too.
I don't know how you sell any pipes at all.
Hope this helps.

Re: Blast!
Tyler, since you're using a Mac, you're probably using iPhoto too. When you export the pictures from iPhoto to whatever folder you're using to save them, you are given an option for size. Pick something smaller than maximum size, say, max dimension of 600 px, when you save. The resulting photos may still be terrible, but at least we'll be able to see the whole thing at once.

I didn't actually go through iPhoto.
iPhone pics-->dropbox-->MacBook-->web
<edit> should be between MacBook and web. Alas, I didn't take the time.
In the way of an excuse, I had no idea they would be that big until I'd posted them. I've never posted unedited before. I'll go back and shrink them when get a second.
