Well, I didn't make the comment, but I was kinda thinking the same thing. I guess Brian and I are on the same wavelength.
The contrast stain is excellent. What was your method? I also love the rings on the shank. Excellent stuff.
Now for what bugs me. Growley already mentioned the stem, but I think the flow is slightly off. It seems a little.. I dont know... too streched out without much natural curve. Just my opinion. I guess it looks to me that the block was drilled for a straight pipe, but you wanted to make a quarter bend. I could be way off here. That's just my impression. Some of the big boys may have some more helpful advice.
My complaint is nit-picky. It is a gorgeous pipe. Great job.
