Sweet.
What's the case structural material?
Also, did you cut down a bigger pipe or something? I thought raw meer wasn't available outside Turkey.

that was my thoughts exactly...
Walt, I am blown away man! it is extremely cool! looks like you took a wood block, roughly cut out the pipe shape, lined it with felt. then wrapped the leather and tacked it in the seems? still unsure how you did the brass hardware!
the pipe itself is super cool. WHY did you decide to try and suede blast it? I thought the suede blast only works because of the unique micro fibers of the burl?!
regardless. Dats cool shit, right 'der

Somewhere along the line, I got the impression that meer cases were made from paper mache... I tried that, it didn't turn out so well. In desperation, I sacrificed a CAO meerschaum case to dissection and discovered that its guts were made of balsa. Lemme tell ya, after years of hacking away at briar, balsa cuts like hot butter! So, the structural material is balsa!
The stummel is cut from raw block.
It's not supposed to be available outside of Turkey, but...

Also, I noticed it isn't listed on your site. Too new for that, or was it already sold so there was no point?

sorry walt! I swear I didn't mean to offend or anything. you posted another meer on IG and it looked a million times shinier. is this a matte finish? I just thought you quickly suede blasted it... my bad
also it just seemed like there was a ring of smooth meer near the stem like you do when you blast.

Already sold...
But I do plan on putting up a separate section for meers on my site, including a gallery of sold pipes, with progress shots of each pipe. I won't be making very many of them (it's not like the material grows on trees

), so each one will be numbered consecutively and each one will be something special. I want their eventual owners to be able to go on the site and look up their pipe to see the creation process... maybe browse the pics while they smoke it!

Hmm... maybe I didn't have my lighting adjusted properly to catch the reflections...?
That little ring is ivory acrylic. When the meer starts to color up, it will create a nice little surprise accent!

Very slick ! Thats a lot of extra stuff, I assume you're going to ask some real money for that joker !
I have 2 blocks I got awhile back. Wish I had 200, it is marvelous stuff to work with.

I already said it on facebook, but let me repeat it here - I love this pipe.
The pipe collector inside me (which has been dormant for some time since I get more satisfaction from creating beautiful pipes than from spending money on enlarging my collection) has a serious pipe boner for this piece.
Classical shape, artisan grade craftsmanship and engineering, fitted case, ebonite mouthpiece, all these elements together make this a perfect meerschaum pipe for me.
Awesome, trule awesome.
