This pipe had the worst inside the bowl pit I've seen in a pipe.
I used cigar ash mixed with honey to make a paste and put it in there, then schmeared some around the rest of the bowl and smoked a hotter burning aromatic in it. Somebody here suggested it and I guess it caramelized and hardened because it's been fine for about a year now. I've read a lot of people use cigar ash and water.

Hello, I'm #1312.
That's a really big number.

Alden I wasn't meaning it that way, as in hands off, but it's something I do that gets commented on and like the micro rustication it becomes a sort of trademark feature.
The gold dust I bought a couple of years ago on ebay and it was decribed as 'filings', I've had a look and the seller is no longer registered, you might want to try a Jewellers Supplier or a local scrap gold dealer. Or if suicidal borrow the wifes wedding ring and take a fine file to it.
David.

Haha, gotcha. It certainly is a cool feature. Something to try down the line.
Not married yet, so I'll have to wait before trying that. Though in the meantime I could always dive in front of the subway for similar results.
