Re: My 1st two pipes
Very nice. I would highly recommend that you spent some serious hours reading over all the past posts that are here on the forum. This place is overloaded with information pertaining to pipecrafting. It takes a little bit more of your own time but IMO it is better than being lazy and just asking que...

The post went bye-bye. (either sold or the ad expired)
I am on the lookout for a metal lathe for my workshop. Older good ones can be found on CL for 500 bucks and sometimes less.... but you have to jump on them as they sell fast. Good Luck!

Re: Pipemaker Tooling
I would be very interested, Todd.
I have been pricing 4 jaw lathe chucks and find the prices way over the top and then add on the price of bigger towered jaws? No way. Hell, I could weld up and bend my own tower jaws if need be.

Oh MY now that is sweet, Daniel. That black stem gives it a classy-ass look. I love it. WOW
I like the "busy-ness of all the curves and the different shapes... as it keeps your eye movng and keeps it interesting. A well sculptured piece of art IMO.

Re: Shopsmith for pipecrafting
I use shopsmiths. I have 3 of them for a total investment of $500. One is set up for buffing and shaping stems on the lathe, another is set up for horizontal drilling with a vise mounted on it that moves in multiple directions and the last one is set up with a huge sanding disc and the bandsaw. Unt...

Greetings Daniel, I refuse to do any electronic or internet money transactions. I live in the US and bought a pipe from a man in Germany. I sent him a money order that I purchased from the local post office and mailed it to him. He accepted it and had no problems cashing it in. Would personal checks...

Re: Shopsmith for pipecrafting
Thanks Tyler, I will look him up. :) Sas, Aside from buffing, I have not used it for "piping around" yet as I am still gathering supplies, equipment, knowledge, etc. But "in my head" (aka "on paper") I am thinking that the bandsaw will stay put on one end of the shopsmi...

Shopsmith for pipecrafting
I have a good older Shopsmith machine (Mark V) which I use for buffing and other wood projects. I picked it up for a steal at 200 dollars. I am thinking of trying to use it to make some pipes. I like it for many reasons. It has a bandsaw attachment and a nice upgraded Rockler table. The motor is var...
