Where to buy tobacco?
OK, so I've been looking all over and can't seem to find it. My B&M stores around here don't have much of a selection, but I tried an oriental mixture from one and I rather enjoyed it. After hearing advice on the forum I'd like to try a number of new tobaccos, but everywhere I look, they're out ...

Re: sand paper
The motor arbor and backup pads I have available on my site are designed specifically for the 6" Abralon pads. I assume that since your backup pad you list on your website is 5" dia that the inch of overhang from the 6" pads allows you to get the tight corners, right? I probably shou...

Birdseye Grain
I've been eyeing some dunhill pipes with a really nice looking birdseye pattern and I'm wondering how I might achieve that myself. Is it a certain cut of the briar or is it more an orientation?

Show off your workshop
I was just looking at an older thread, and it got me curious. I'm just starting to assemble everything for a new workshop and before I decide on layout, dust collection, etc, I'd love to get some fresh ideas. So, if you have any pics of where the magic happens  why not show them off here. I'm ...

I was thinking the same question. I'm thinking of buying a OneWay Talon for my shopsmith and making some wooden blocks to put on two of the face a la this website. I've seen some custom chucks with a pin in them. What is the pin for? Is it to center on the hinge between the draft hole and the bowl? ...

Thanks for the plethora of knowledge
I am overwhelmed by the vast knowledge that has accumulated on these forums. I believe that I must properly introduce myself. My name is Michael and I am new to the pipe-crafting art. I was recently offered the use of my wife's grandfather's shopsmith and a world of woodworking opened up to me. I ha...
