If you go swinging a mallet you're going to bust a shank. Even using a press can be tricky. Just be careful. I just roll the stamp with pretty firm pressure over the area I want stamped.

Each of the presses is set up for one stamp; One for my signature, one for a date, one for grade, etc.
Each machine weighs 142,000 lbs, so the stamps come out very crisp.
