Guys I wish I had a picture of Ernie during the Chicago Show. I don't think Ernie shows up in pictures ?? I took a shot of me with my arm over his shoulder. When I checked it later, it was just me standing there with my arm in the air.... He's a vampire, that's why he sparkles. funny, he sh...

Re: More fuel for the Delrin vs. integral tenon debate
My speculation is that Delrin lowered the biggest technical barrier-to-entry in pipemaking, and this is the result. seems plausible. i know for myself, prior to getting a lathe, using delrin for tenons was the only way i was able to make hand cut stems. at that point i still had alot to learn, and ...

Re: Blasted Dublin (riff on Rad's shape)
looks really nice david... but you gotta start sanding your stems better. those little scratches take away alot from an otherwise lovely pipe. nice blast too, where you blasting?

Re: is this lathe just not good enough?
i believe something that size can do stemwork, but thats about it... though i have no personal experience with a machine that size. for myself, i wouldn't want to go any smaller than a 9 x 20, just not enough bang for the buck imo.

Re: Mad Dog
ummmm, can you explain the shank/stem bendy bit? I don't see what you are talking about. The shank and stem are pretty cool to me. I am not arguing, I want to learn, my eyes are a sponge :) rev i'll try, although explaining over the internet ain't my strong suit. at about the halfway point of the s...
